Get your Motorcycle Endorsement on a Genuine, Piaggio, Kymco, or Aprilia scooter!
In the State of Florida, the law requires a motorcycle endorsement for motorized scooters with an engine size greater than 50cc’s. A 50cc or under motor scooter can be ridden with a regular driver’s license. All drivers must be at least 16-years old and possess a full (non-restricted) Class-E or greater Driver’s License. An 18-hour approved motorcycle / motor scooter training course is a State of Florida requirement to obtain a motorcycle endorsement.
The Scooter Basic Rider Courses at Motorcycle Safety of Florida, Inc. fulfills this requirement. The Scooter Basic Rider Course is a research-based and action-oriented core curriculum designed to teach beginning scooterists of all ages the physical and mental skills necessary to ride safely on the street. It includes basic scooter operation, maximum effective braking techniques, turning skills, obstacle avoidance maneuvers, classroom instruction and ten hours of “on cycle” training. Rider Coaches for the program are all experienced motorcycle operators who are nationally certified by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF).
The 18 hour course is $250. Student workbooks, helmets and Vespa LX 150 and Kymco Agility 125 motor scooters are provided by Motorcycle Safety of Florida Inc.
